At Adapt Fitness we are passionate about helping people get fitter, move better and easier, and lose weight. We focus on ‘functional training’. Functional training is a system which mimics movements people use in everyday life. For example, squatting down to lift objects off the ground, or reaching to hang clothes on the line. By focusing on these movements it helps improve stability, mobility and flexibility of the joints. Many of the typical exercises performed in gyms serve very little purpose. What is the purpose of a leg press machine or a leg curl machine? They work the muscle, but the stabilisers are doing very little. These machines only allow the weight to move in a fixed plane. If instead you stand on the ground and perform a squat, suddenly all your stabiliser muscles are firing to keep your knees tracking correctly; you have to engage your core and think about maintaining correct posture through your spine; your shoulders are pulled back and down to maintain scapular stability. Suddenly your entire body is engaged. By training functionally the body develops strength that can be applied to everyday tasks, and will help you avoid injury. You’ll look fantastic but that will be a by-product of moving properly. And it’s a type of training which is beneficial for both young and mature aged people.

At Adapt Fitness we make use of training tools including free weights, kettlebells, boxing, ropes and body weight exercises.

When you train with us you’ll receive expert training as well as plenty of encouragement and advice on achieving your individual fitness goals; be that weight loss, strength gains, sport speciific training, or improving your everyday life. We are also happy to work with your Doctor or Pysiotherapist to assist with weight loss or recovery from an injury.

No matter your age or level of fitness, Adapt Fitness can help make your life better.

Boot Camps

Throughout the warmer months we run boot camps in East Perth every weekday from 6 -7 am. There are two groups running; a Monday, Wednesday and Friday group and a Tuesday and Thursday group. We meet at Haig Park (end of Royal Street) and do a great morning workout. It’s guaranteed to wake you up!
We do a mix of bodyweight training, interval training, boxing, circuits and games. You’ll work hard, but you won’t be running around with a backpack full of rocks. We want you to have fun and be a part of a fantastic, supportive group.

In addition to training, we’ll also provide you lots of great nutritional advice in the form of handouts and emails to help you achieve your health and fitness goals.

Private Group Classes

We can arrange to run group classes for you and your friends. We like group classes because you get to hang out with your friends and it saves you money. Plus, you’re more likely to be consistent with your workouts if your friends are waiting for you. We can run classes for any size group and can also cater for corporate groups.

Personal Training

As a personal training client you can choose between 30, 45 and 60 minute sessions. Whether you’re new to exercise or want more individual attention, personal training is the best way to learn exercises and perfect technique. Your trainer also has more opportunity to focus on your personal goals.
